چکیده

Two-dimensional unsteady wake characteristics and Strouhal number discontinuity have been investigated numerically in flow past rectangular cylinder of different aspect ratio using lattice Boltzmann method. Effect (AR) has studied for Reynolds (Re) the range from 75 to 150. For investigation between 0.05 1 considered. Different regimes, such as two-rows regime, modulated fully developed regime irregular identified based on values ratios cylinder. The effects numbers fluid forces, separation vortex shedding frequency examined detail. results reveal that there exists an where shows discontinuity. Especially Re = 145 150, a number, is observed at around 0.5 ≤ AR 0.6 few extra small peaks are found power spectra result lift coefficient pattern behind with no fixed vorticity contour streamline visualization. further show change by changing AR.

experimental investigation of the characteristics of the wake of a rotating circular cylinder at different reynolds numbers and speed ratios

in this study, the characteristics of the wake around a rotating circular cylinder have been investigated experimentally. to this end, a cylinder with a circular cross-section of plexiglas with the length of 400 mm and a diameter of 20 mm have been tested in the wind tunnel. using existing methods, the characteristics of the wake and the drag coefficients of the model in different cases have be...

Flow Induced Vibration Characteristics of a Cylinder in Cross Flow at Low-reynolds Numbers

In this paper we present numerical results of the dynamic response to fluid forcing on an elastically mounted rigid cylinder in low-Reynolds flow, allowed to oscillate transverse to a free stream. A vortex method is implemented to solve the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equation in terms of vorticity. The Reynolds numbers ranges from 90 to 170, a regime that is fully laminar. The vortex pattern...

Drag and Pressure Fields for the Mhd Flow around a Circular Cylinder at Intermediate Reynolds Numbers

Steady incompressible flow around a circular cylinder in an external magnetic field that is aligned with fluid flow direction is studied for Re (Reynolds number) up to 40 and the interaction parameter in the range 0 ≤N ≤ 15 (or 0 ≤M ≤ 30), where M is the Hartmann number related to N by the relation M = √2N Re, using finite difference method. The pressure-Poisson equation is solved to find press...

Flow Structure Analysis around an Oscillating Circular Cylinder at Low Kc Number: a Numerical Study

Flow fields around an oscillating circular cylinder are studied by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in primitive variable formulation. A finite volume method with a pressure predictor-corrector scheme is used and the solution procedure is accelerated by a local time stepping technique. Numerical tests are carried out at the Keulegan-Carpenter number KC < 20 and Reynolds number...
